Pikey Peak trail is the newly discovered hidden gem of the trekking trail in the Everest Region. Claimed to be the favourite hiking trail of no other than Sir Edmund Hillary, who mentioned Pikey Peak as the best point to have the view of Mt Everest. The Pikey Peak is a sacred peak and to summit the peak is akin to taking a pilgrimage to be blessed by the buddhist dharma deity along with spectacular views of family of the mountains- Mt Everest, Makalu,Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Gaurishankar, Lhotse, Nuptse, Numbur, Sishapangma, Thamserku and Mera Peak.

Pikey peak trail leads to the village of Junbesi which translates to Jun- moon and Besi- the valley. The valley of the moon where according to the legend, moon had a glimpse of this valley and decided to come down to take rest for sometime.
The entire route carries a deep spiritual connotation and is bestowed with fabulous natural beauty which provides the traveller play of the nature in her beauty in all her seasons ranging from snow and mountain views in early march to rhododenderon covered forests in the spring and Buddhist celebrations in the autumn.

The Mountain and the Snow : Early - Mid March

THE RHODODENDRON TRAIL : APRIL

Walk through the paradise amidst the forest covered with a blanket of Rhododendron flowers of all shades and hues of red, pink and white. The flowers are the national flowers of Nepal and when they grow they fill the entire landscape with their bloom which is a sight of magic. Our favourite time to make the trip!

The Dumji Festival Special tour: Depends on the lunar calendar

Join us for this mysterious festival in the Junbesi village. Every year, the Sherpa families of Junbesi come together from near and far on the auspicious week of Dumji festival to invoke and seek blessings of one of their Buddhist deities who is known to protect Dharma and their village. The festival continues for seven long days with special prayers and rituals, we arrive to witness the last three days of the festival, where the lamas will perform their ceremonial dance, and bestow empowerments or blessings to the attendees followed by a Sherpa cultural program. Quite an experience in this remote corner of the world!

UPDATE: 2023 the Junbesi Dumji Festival tour will take place from April 16- 22nd.
